The halflife of Love
Someone on my friends list recently posted on Livejournal:
The biggest sign of emotional maturity is realizing, even in depths of despair and heartbreak, that it won’t last forever, and you will endure.
Which is a good point, but ultimately I have to disagree. An even bigger sign of emotional maturity is realizing, even at the height of adoration and romance, that the intensity of those feelings won’t last forever, and you will endure.
It’s rather like learning there’s no Santa Claus.
