Making technology look good

Tumbling friends can be overwhelming to manage at times, so I have a number of RSS feeds to choose from:
Everything | Blog only | Tumblelog only | Everything but twitter

About the girl

I end up having such a diverse range of output and passions that I always have a pretty shitty elevator pitch. About pages aren’t much better.

I’m a Sr. Systems Engineer for Cardinal Health in San Diego, CA. That means I research and integrate new technologies into our medication dispensing and infusion systems. It’s great, but nobody outside of the healthcare industry cares about what we do, so I don’t talk about it much. I’m also a Product Manager for Startup Schwag. When you see new functionality in the service, it was probably my idea. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in Web Programming and Design and a minor in Theatre.

Now with the pedigree out of the way, for fun I’m constantly thinking about how to manage and learn from the data we generate on a daily basis, especially regarding emotions, attention, and nutrition. My brilliant friend David and I teamed up to start a labor of love we call Technarium to collect our ideas while we decide how we’re going to change the world.

I’m also a hobbyist photographer, model, conference junkie, and BarCamp organizer. All in all, I’m just some girl on the Internet.

About the site

This site serves as a prototype for my ideas on creating a wordpress-powered tumblelog. It blends the style and flow of Tumblr with the power of Wordpress by utilizing some clever bookmarklets and importing various RSS feeds…all of which are filed into categories based on content.

Regular posts include my twitter messages, pictures taken by myself and others, article quotes, chats with friends, links, random interesting words, and video clips. Oh yeah, and every once in a while I’ll write actual blog entries about the technology, culture, and geek sexuality topics I threatened in my one-line author bio. I’m also a beta hound, so there’s a healthy dose of product review and invite trading as well.

Future ideas for this concept include ways to manage location data, audio files, and a graceful way to post all these different types of content from mobile devices.
